Homeless animals are brought to Noah's Ark for a myriad of reasons.  Here are a few stories of the animals that reside at Noah's Ark.

Guinea PigThis long haired Peruvian Guinea Pig makes a very good companion.  They require a LOT of brushing and devoted attention.   Fruit is a special treat, timothy hay and vitamin C supplements are necessary supplements.

WABBIT:  Beautiful Californian with ruby eyes, dark ears and a dark tail.   Very friendly and litter box trained.  He has a custom made carpeted two tier condominium made especially for him.  He is Very sweet and lovable.   For specific information about rabbit care go to www.rabbit.org
Fat.JPG (131736 bytes) Meet FAT our resident Black-Tailed Prairie Dog.  FAT is appropriately named because of his rotund belly.  These wild animals naturally live in underground colonies called coteries.   We built them a play area made of sand, where they enjoy tunneling immensely.   Click here for more information on Saving the Prairie Dog
Iguanna.JPG (34481 bytes) IGUANAS require special equipment including special lighting.  This mean old lady is nearly 5 foot long.  She had previously lost her front foot due to fighting with other Iguanas.   Included in her daily diet are fresh salad greens, zucchini and cantaloupe.
Robbie_Rat.JPG (56564 bytes) This is ROBBIE, a Chocolate Rat.  Robbie is an exceptional rodent, quite smart, gentle and has never bitten.  He is often used in educating the general public that rats can be great pets.  They are easy to take care of and easy to feed, as rats are true opportunists.   His favorite treat is yogurt morsels.

Animals are often turned in to Noah's Ark because they are purchased on impulse without the consideration of the extra time, special needs they require and lack of long term commitment.  Sassy
